Resident Requirements

Requirements
Applicants for residency training in psychiatry must have:
1. Graduated from an accredited college of osteopathic medicine.
2. Be members of the AOA.
3. Initial Registration or appropriate Florida Medical License.
During the training program the resident must:
1. Maintain a satisfactory log of assigned patients for whom he/she has primary care. Copies of these records shall be filed monthly with the program director and shall be available for inspection. The resident will maintain appropriate medical records as defined by the program director.
2. Submit an annual report to the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists.
3. Write one (1) professional paper pertinent to psychiatry which is suitable for publication. The paper shall be submitted the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists during the last year of training., prior to completion of the residency training.
4. Actively collaborate with the generalist and specialists of other disciplines that are deemed appropriate for good patient care.
5. The resident shall be required to participate in all residency related activities and professional staff activities involving patient care and evaluation.
